The Prevention In Action-Global Forum, the first of its annual series, will feature discussions and dialogue on state-of-the-art thinking on prevention and peacebuilding and will showcase innovative experiences from initiatives around the world.
The Forum will tap into UNDP’s offer and global practices from a wide range of partners to discuss and exchange how to support more effective conflict prevention and peacebuilding efforts.
UNDP will provide a platform for exchange of ideas and experiences between practitioners and policy makers aimed towards collective thinking and advancing development pathways for conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
UNDP’s Prevention Offer aims to protect and accelerate development trajectories, stabilize fragile situations, and integrate recovery, resilience, reintegration into crisis/conflict response. Based on needs emanating from country offices, the offer links vertical systemic/structural/operational prevention to the horizontal continuum of prevention — outbreak, escalation, continuation/spill over, recurrence/relapse — to ensure integrated support to country offices and partners. The prevention offer allows for UNDP to provide integrated development solutions to complex problems based on analysis and evidence.
